Service

  • $65 flat fee

    This service starts with a thorough cleaning of fretboard, pickups, and potentiometers. Next, the strings are replaced with a fresh set for no extra charge (You are welcome to bring your preferred strings.) Finally, the truss rod and saddles are aligned and intonation is set. Everything you need to keep your instrument playing great.

  • $40 hourly plus parts

    The world is imperfect and sometimes things fall apart. Not to worry, they can be repaired or replaced! I’ll cover anything from headstock to tailpiece.

  • $60 hourly plus parts

    Some jobs demand extra fine detail. This service is for things like refrets, gluing headstocks, refinishing, body cavity routing, and floating tremolos. My pricing is still competitive even for jobs that require the utmost care.

This guitar features an alder body in gorgeous capri orange finish, a maple neck with rosewood fretboard and Grover tuners on a reversed headstock, and simplified one-pickup configuration with an absolutely amazing Alumitone Deathbucker by Lace pickups. This pickup gets the response and tone of an active rig without the need for 9v batteries. Check out the all black hardware including Dunlop Strap-Loks. Spooky! This is a beast of a guitar for a not so beastly price.

This is the first in a series of three jazzy guitars I am building this Fall. It features a gunstock oil rubbed walnut body, a roasted maple neck with satin finish and rosewood fretboard, fine Canadian leather strap, and lush, full-sounding pickups by Seymour Duncan. This sweet guitar is a treat to play.

My name is Mike McDonald. I am a multi-instrumentalist and I have been performing in Las Vegas for the last 24 years. I started doing business as MMCD in June of 2020, helping repair my friends’ instruments and building instruments from kits under the MMCD label. I am excited to promote music literacy and make amazing instruments available to anyone with a passion for performing.
